Sway (2021)

Junior Museum and Zoo/Palo Alto Public Art Program, Palo Alto, CA. 40’H, 6’W, 16’L

Aluminum, steel, wood, fabric, and electro-mechanical brake system

Sway is a participatory kinetic sculpture. Four slowly swinging 40-foot tall poles extend through a roof opening in the museum’s entrance portico. Each is fitted with a small seat for a person to ride and a wind-directional sail at the top. A gentle choreography results.
