Spinning laser illuminates slice of turbulent fog. Sweeping black bar is due to mismatch between video shutter-speed and rotation of laser.

A thin sheet of green light illuminates a horizontal cross-section of fog. The horizontal “slice” creates the illusion of a turbulent liquid surface. Yet when you stick your hand into the pool, you are confronted with the surprise that it is dry. Gently blowing into the pool causes complex ripples of turbulence to flow across the surface.
